Clients I Work With

My typical clients are C-suite and executive leaders in commercial businesses — we are working on their leadership, how they're performing, or something they haven't quite been able to articulate yet. Generally they are looking to make a lasting change in some way.I am also happy to work with clients earlier in their careers and in other sectors - my own experience doesn't reflect on my coaching. Some of my clients are new to coaching, and some have worked with a coach before. What they tend to have in common is that they're serious about their own development and open to a conversation that might stretch and challenge their own expectations.I can be engaged directly on a personal basis, or contracted through your organisation. I work with a small number of clients at any one time, so the work is genuinely individual.I tend to work with most clients remotely but where its feasible I am happy to meet in person.

Areas I coach on

Coaching can be applied to large, long-term challenges and also to more immediate, in-the-moment topics. The client picks those topics and steers the conversation over time — there's no fixed curriculum or programme but we continually check to ensure that the client is going in the right direction. What clients typically bring involves some dimension of leadership, personal performance, or the performance of their business or team. At C-suite level, personal performance and business performance are often tightly connected — and leadership is frequently the thread that runs between them.Leadership style isn't something you can successfully copy from someone else. The most impactful leaders develop their own approach — and it evolves constantly, in response to their own experience and growth, the situation they're in, and the people around them. That process of development is exactly what coaching is for.

At its core, what makes coaching work is the ability of the client to open up and see things from different perspective — and that relies on the coach's skill in helping that to happen, and then the client making use of the new awareness that comes from it. That's my role as a coach and something I enjoy doing.
